The Rose that Grew From the Concrete

2015

The Beginning

Kapstone studios was originally founded late 2015 when engineer & owner Joshua Coleman decided to take it upon himself to use his skills as a carpenter & audio engineer to convert his garage into a full recording studio. It slowly became a place for he and his peers to create music as well as expand into a business.

2016

From the Ashes

In May 2016, due to unknown forces, the same studio Josh put his own time and money into build tragically caught on fire leaving nothing but ashes in its wake & taking most of the belongings in his home along with it. Though this would be devastating to anyone, Josh didn’t allow that to deter him from his goal.

2017

New Location

Today we stand at the rebirth of the metaphorical Phoenix from the ashes of the former Kapstone Studios into the new Kapstone Music, Inc. A place built solely with the intention of creating an art we all love and enjoy.

Joshua Coleman – Studio Founder

Kapstone Music, Inc. is owned and operated by engineer and producer Joshua Coleman. For the past ten years, he pursued his dream of making music his full-time career. After receiving formal training at AIMM, he honed his skills by working in various Atlanta studios alongside industry professionals.

Coleman lives by the idea that “if you do what you love for a living every day, it’s hardly working.” Though he doesn’t know who originally said it, this philosophy became the driving force behind both Kapstone Music, Inc. and Kapstone Studios.

He didn’t build it just for himself. His goal was to prove that it’s possible to turn your passion into a career — even when facing real-world challenges like bills and distractions. That belief became the company’s motto: “It’s Possible.”
